Counties Applaud Minnesota Supreme Court's Decision Rejecting State Auditor's Lawsuit in Favor of Local Governments and Taxpayers

(St. Paul, MN)--- The Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) applauds yesterday’s ruling by the Minnesota Supreme Court upholding the 2015 legislation that allows counties the option to have their required audits performed by either the Office of the State Auditor (OSA) or a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm.

Counties Consider Litigation to Recoup Costs Related to the Opioid Epidemic

The AMC Board of Directors heard an update at their October 13 meeting about lawsuits that are being filed by counties, cities, and states against drug manufacturers and distributors to recoup costs related to human services, out of home placements, and law enforcement.

AMC Calls for Compromise on Transportation Funding

Association of Minnesota Counties sent a letter signed by 227 county officials to all Minnesota state legislators urging a compromise solution on comprehensive transportation funding for roads, bridges, and transit before the legislative session adjourns.
