This session is for county commissioners, county elections officials, county administrators, and others who are interested in learning more about ways to increase public trust in elections.
Whether you consider yourself conservative or liberal, many people experience a general feeling of distrust in our electoral system for a variety of reasons—from accusations of voter fraud and election security, to fears around voter suppression and the peaceful transfer of power.
Leading up to the 2024 election, Braver Angels worked to rebuild this trust by seeking solutions supported by people across the political spectrum. The result is this report, which is based on the findings of 26 workshops with 194 evenly-balanced Red and Blue participants and found 727 unanimous points of agreement across values, concerns, and solutions. This report—based on hundreds of cross-partisan conversations—could provide a blueprint for restoring trust in our elections.
