AMC Leadership Meets With Minnesota Congressional Members During Annual Meeting in Washington D.C.
AMC President Gary Hendrickx, a Swift County commissioner, and AMC Executive Director Julie Ring are in Washington D.C. this week for the National Association of Counties (NACo) Annual Association Executives & Presidents Conference and had an opportunity to meet with Minnesota members of Congress yesterday to discuss a variety of issues.

During a meeting with Sen. Al Franken, the group discussed the Affordable Care Act, mental health and chemical dependency issues, social services and public health, as well as tax exemption for municipal bonds and the Marketplace Fairness Act. During a meeting with Congressman Collin Peterson, they discussed the farm bill, SNAP, environment and health care, during a meeting Wednesday in Washington D.C.
