Leaders in local government are increasingly called upon to exhibit proficiency in a range of skills from cultural competency, to conflict management, to bringing together groups with diverse opinions.

Created exclusively for AMC members by the Mitchell mhls-logo-400Hamline School of Law, this training series, led by internationally renowned faculty, is designed to equip leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this challenging environment.

This
interactive series of trainings will address the following topics, among others:

  • The skills, constraints and dynamics of negotiation.
  • Key communication and conflict processing skills  required for successfully navigating challenging conversations.
  • Components of successful public engagement and dialogue.
  • The influence of culture on decision making and public dialogue.

There will be 40 total seats available in the four session mini-cohort.
