Knowledge Transfer (9-12pm)

Employees often wonder: What would your county do if you won the lottery and didn’t show up for work tomorrow? If you had one day to share all that you do with an incoming person, which information would you share? Learn how to help yourself and others get ready to pass along the knowledge that helps the county to run smoothly during promotions, retirements and lottery winning.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Determine what critical knowledge employees hold
  • Learn best practice strategies for knowledge transfer
  • Begin an action plan to bring back to your county

Succession Planning (1-4pm)

With Baby Boomers beginning their exodus into retirement, increasing annual turnover, and demographic shifts in workforce composition many organizations are asking:  Are we ready? Do we have the right talent ready to fill the gaps? How are we going to address our workforce challenges?

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore succession planning and leadership development best practices;
  • Learn what processes, approaches and tools are most effective for identifying high potentials, managing talent pools and developing leaders at all levels;
  • Assess and consider how engagement, generational differences and a supportive learning culture effects retention and development;
  • Determine next steps in the development of an integrated talent management strategy.
