The
county message is often best heard in person, and that's why we're inviting
Minnesota counties to come to St. Paul for County Days at the Capitol!
AMC will again host and assist counties
who travel to Saint Paul during the 2008 legislative session to visit with their legislative delegation and
attend committee hearings.
Because of the late start of the session and likelihood of early
committee deadlines, we encourage counties to schedule visits between
February 12 and April 4.
Remember to set up appointments with your
legislators ahead of time.

What happens the day of your
visit?

You will want
to plan to arrive at AMC early (we recommend either 8 or 9 a.m.) but
we realize some have a long drive and we can be flexible with the
arrival time.

You can relax
in the Board Room or Minnesota Room with a cup of coffee and a roll
while one or a few of our staff briefs you on county priorities and what is going on at the
Legislature that day.

Our staff
will also give you a brief fact-sheet on legislative issues of county
concern to take with you to the Capitol. Then your group will walk over to the Capitol for the
legislative visits and hearings.
