The Legislative Steering Committee (LSC) is an AMC presidential appointment. Currently, it is comprised of members of the AMC Board of Directors, which assures balanced representation among the AMC districts.

In early 2011, the AMC Board looked at several issues surrounding the redundancy of the Legislative Steering Committee/Board of Directors and the merit of holding separate meetings for Legislative Steering and the Board.  It was suggested that the two (Board and Legislative Steering) be combined to eliminate and unnecessary redundancy.  This decision and subsequent AMC Bylaws change was voted on at the March 18, 2011, Board of Directors meeting and passed.
