Mission, Goals, and Objectives (Draft):

Mission: The elderly services work group exists to provide a forum to share information about issues affecting the elderly and to propose policies to improve the long-term care system. 

2005 Goals:

• Provide input to development of AMC legislative platform by forwarding recommendations to the AMC Health Subcommittee and the Health and Human Services Policy Committee.

• Provide feedback to guide AMC staff’s legislative advocacy efforts on issues related to long-term care that are identified in the platform (in coordination with HHS Policy Committee and Legislative Steering Committee).

• Share information on long-term care services and programs with county representatives.

• The Subcommittee meets at the call of the chair. Special subgroups are sometimes formed to address specific issues such as MSHO.
